At the Atlanta Airport

We had an enjoyable overnight stay with my brother in the Atlanta
area. The last time we were here was for our Disney Cruise in the
western Mediterranean in 2007. We had a late supper at the Slice o
Rama and then stayed up real late talking.

Our flight is scheduled to leave at 5:15 PM. We like to check in early
so that we can avoid crowds and take our time in getting everything
done like bags checked, passports scanned, shoes x-rayed.

On the way to the airport, we stopped for lunch at the original
ChickFilA. It's right near the airport and just felt like a vacationy
thing to do. They have both diner service, which we used, and typical
counter service like we can get at home. They serve full breakfast all
day and are open 24 hours a day except Sunday. DH had a chicken potpie
that he said was food. The boys and I stuck with chicken nuggets, but
DS12 and I lived on the wild side and had "straight fries" instead of
waffle fries. They serve hamburgers, too, which wad just wrong The
restaurant is also known as the Dwarf House and had a dwarf-sized door
you could go in and out.

My brother dropped us off at the Delta terminal. We were able to self
check in at the kiosks where it was not busy at all and there was a
helpful Delta agent that showed me how to scan the passports. We
checked our four bags and only one was close to our 50 lb limit.

The TSA check was quick but there was a bit of a backup at the bag
screening. DH was pulled for a random check which was just swabbing
his hands. I didn't even see it happening.

From drop off to getting to our gate took about 45 minutes. And now
we are waiting for the next few hours to board.
